“I prefer to paint outdoors in a plein aire setting, in the mountains, at the ocean, and inland Puget Sound. I am stimulated by the wind, temperature and smells of the outdoors and attempt to capture these elements in my paintings.”

Griswold attended San Francisco Art Institute, Los Angeles City College and UCLA University. He has studied with Jerry Stitt, John Riggen and Deane Lemley.

He is a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and a Board member of the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters. His work is exhibited regionally.
