Born in New York City and residing on Lummi Island, Washington, Ann Morris is one of the forerunners of the next wave of Northwest Artists gaining national attention.

Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Chicago. She is also in many permanent collections such as the Museum of Northwest Art, La Conner, WA, Saks Fifth Avenue, Houston, TX, and the Aerojet General Corporation in La Jolla, California.

Associating nature and human spirit, Morris weaves the languages of archetypes, myth, mortality and symbols of travel and growth into her figure-based sculpture. The scale and size of which are proportional to how they mean to communicate to the viewer. The work is usually quiet and intimate or monumental and iconic. Whether the human figure is literally rendered or metaphorically present, the body is consistently and convincingly at the core.
